So who is Karen Terry and why should you listen to me?
I operated my own business for 12 years prior to becoming a coach. In 1996, starting from scratch, I built a successful training practice as a certified software instructor in a high-tech field. During this time I became one of the most knowledgeable, highly respected, top-rated and sought-after instructors in my field (and humble too!). My clients were Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, XTO Energy (now ExxonMobil), Koch Industries, Carter-Burgess (now Jacobs), Freese & Nichols, Shell, and APC, along with the State of Texas and numerous municipal governments.
Unlike many coaches, I am a Certified Life Coach who has real business-ownership experience. I know what it takes to grow and sustain a business long-term. My training background, coaching skills, and business experience provide a very powerful combination that I leverage for my clients.
After teaching a class, many people, usually women, would approach me and ask how I got started out on my own. Most were in the family planning stages of their lives (thinking about having a baby or had one already), and were looking for a more flexible career. So I would meet and talk with them, and over time these conversations led me to become a coach and also write my award-winning book “Full-Time Woman, Part-Time Career” which ultimately became the “go-to” guide for how to start a home-based business. So I was coaching before I even knew what coaching was!
Today I am a Certified Life Coach (CLC). Because of my training and technology background, I also hold a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) from CompTIA (you “tech types” should be familiar with that!). I have been in-and-out of the Corporate World, and I understand the issues facing women who work full-time.
Who do I work with?

New or fairly new entrepreneurs (some who have already transitioned out of Corporate America).
Anyone thinking about starting a business, but who are overwhelmed with the process!
